In order to better serve community the Board of Directors has authorized the completion of three new surgical suites, 10 bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit, 16-bed Emergency Department, and 32 private patient rooms.

In an attempt to better meet the needs of our community the Hospital has hired new physicians for the Emergency Room. The new ER physician group has become part of the Hospital family and blend with existing medical staff. Here at DeSoto Memorial Hospital the top-notch Emergency Department physicians and staff attempt to have a 2 1/2 hour turnaround time for patients. Providing Emergency Care of the highest quality in the shortest possible time is the goal of hospital. Emergency Department team, in cooperation with all of other departments, has designed a system to get patients seen quickly and efficiently, allowing to greatly minimize excessively long wait times.

The hospital selects Franklin & Seidelmann to provide Radiology Professional Interpretations. The hospital has signed a contract with Franklin & Seidelmann Radiology to exclusively provide all radiology professional interpretations to go into effect on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Franklin & Seidelmann subspecialty radiologists have a very
narrow and deep focus of a specific clinical specialty, modality, anatomy and pathology which results in high quality reports.
