Kona Community Hospital is a 94-bed full-service acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency services, proudly serving the West Hawaii community. For nearly 100 years the hospital has been caring for the people of West Hawaii. Adding more and more services, the hospital has constantly improved abilities to serve residents and visitors whenever they are in need. The hospital has over 400 highly skilled employees and 100 medical staff practitioners, many who have been with hospital for over 20 years. Along with professional and experienced staff, the hospital has many volunteers and affiliates that support hospital. The hospital is also one of the largest employers in West Hawaii.

Recent accolades and accomplishments include the 2010 Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce Pualu Business Innovation Award, voted Best Hospital in West Hawaii in the 2010 West Hawaii Today poll, 2010 American Heart Association's Silver Performance Award in Heart Failure, 3rd Place in HMSA's HQSR Heart Program, and being the first hospital on the Big Island to be designated as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital is a private, public benefit health care facility accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
