With its spiritual Catholic faith, Lourdes Hospital has provided compassionate care to those in need since 1925. Lourdes earned its reputation for quality health care through the dedication and commitment of the people who provide those services day in and day out, 365 days a year, in communities throughout the Southern Tier. Lourdes has as many faces as there are people in the community it serves. In Binghamton, NY, the main hospital campus includes a Hospice Program, an Ambulatory Surgery Center, and a Regional Cancer Center. Reaching beyond these boundaries, Lourdes has established a network of primary care physicians at convenient sites throughout the region. The Mission In Motion program, which provides primary care and cancer screening services through two mobile medical vans, makes health care accessible to rural populations.

Effective November 1, 1999, the Daughters of Charity National Health System (DCNHS) and the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System (SSJHS) merged into a co-sponsored Catholic health ministry known as Ascension Health. Ascension Health has more than 100,000 employees who work in 20 states and the District of Columbia. Lourdes is now a member of Ascension Health, and continues to serve the community in which we live. Much has changed in the community and at Lourdes since a small 25-bed hospital opened on Riverside Drive more than 80 years ago, but there remains one constant: the commitment of the Daughters of Charity and their Mission of caring.
